This training is for domestic violence service providers only.

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how trauma impacts survivors of domestic violence
  • Identify different trauma reactions in survivors that staff may witness and ways in which to respond
  • Learn and practice tips and techniques for crisis intervention including the importance of non-verbal communication, ensuring physical safety for survivors and staff, and verbal de-escalation

Domestic Violence Service Providers (Advocates, Volunteers, Shelter Staff, Abuse Intervention Staff, etc.)

What’s the content level for this training?

Basic: For professionals just beginning their work with survivors, or who have not had much training on working with survivors. (0-2 years’ experience)
