55 lives lost

34 intimate partners died. 18 women and 1 teen girl were killed by their current or ex-boyfriend. 7 women were killed by their current or ex-husband. 5 men and 1 woman were killed by their current or ex-girlfriend. 2 men were killed by their wife. Among these victims, 2 women and 1 man were killed by multiple people.

8 other people died. 1 woman was killed by her step-sister’s boyfriend, 1 man was killed by his friend’s ex-boyfriend. 1 woman was killed by her daughter’s ex-boyfriend. 1 man was killed by his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. 2 children were killed: 1 by her father and 1 by his mom’s boyfriend. 2 bystanders were killed.

13 abusers died. 10 men committed murder-suicide or attempted murder-suicide. 2 men committed murder-suicide and arson. 1 man was killed by his victim (the abuser’s ex-boyfriend) in self-defense.
